My God Rocks!
This isn't gonna be very long but! I just wanted to throw the reminder out there that God always provides when you are doing what He has called you to do. I prayed last night & asked Him to remove the worry in my mind that I wouldn't have the $200 needed by the 12th of Feb. & sure enough He did! :) A friend of my moms blessed me by donating $200 dollars to my Mexico fund. I love it when God uses others to bless people & remind us that He does know what He is doing. God is great. I have no clue what I would do without Him!
A year go my heart was not in the place it is now. My faith & trust in God has grown tremendously & so has my passion for the fatherless. I am kind of glad that I didn't go to Mexico last year. Simply because it was the beginning of March last year that I started into my journey of finding families for children with Down syndrome. March 3th to be exact. That is the day I fell in love with my Clare-Bug! If you want to read about that from the day I fell in love till the day she was safely in the arms of her new family read this post! "The Little Girl Who Started It All" God has truly blessed me & prepared my heart & eyes for the orphans down in Mexico. As I always say "You aren't fully living for God until you are ready to die for Him" So God...I care about nothing more in my life then to do YOUR will. So send me out!

Being The Hands & Feet Of God.
Well I am super happy to say that in March I will be (Hopefully!) going on a missions trip down to Hermosillo Mexico with my youth group for a week! We will be going down to lay the foundation for a new orphanage that is going to be built as well as do VBS (Vacation Bible School) & play with the orphans!
This will be our youth groups 4th time going down there, my first time going with them!
What a great opportunity this will be for me to start my journey, into the world of missions. Now the only thing stopping me from going is the money that I have to have. By Feb. 12 I have to have $200 to hand to my youth pastor & then will need another $200 with in a 2-4 week time span. Now me being Jobless & totally relying on God & others to help me make this trip happen I will need people to help by sponsoring me. Even the littlest bit will help me get closer to my goal! So if you feel lead to give & help me make my way down to Mexico, there will be a "Chip In" donation box over on the right hand side bar that you can donate to. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me!
You can either email me @ AlyssaGoodhue[at]hotmail[dot]com
Or you can message me o Facebook. "Alyssa Goodhue". Thank you for taking the time to read this & thanks in advanced for helping me get there! :)

Not A Burden But A Blessing
Down syndrome is most certainly not a burden, but a blessing. Whenever I hear people talk children & people with Down syndrome, I only hear positive things. I hear about all of the great things they have accomplished that the doctors told them could never be done. I have heard the amazing joy that is brought into peoples lives by a person with Down syndrome. The different personality's & attitudes that they have. The love that they show, to me it is all amazing.
I have only heard that people with Down syndrome are a blessing. Never a burden. They are beautiful & unique. All they want is what everyone else wants. To be excepted as they are for who they are. Everyone is different, in one way or another we are all different. Not one of us is alike. So then why is it that children & people who are "Extra" special get made fun of & become outcasts?
Their almond shaped eyes, wider spaces between their fingers & toes make them unique. They learn at their own pace as everyone else does. Now I have no siblings with Down syndrome but God has blessed me, & opened my eyes so that I can see their full potential, & I wish show other what God has shown me.
While we are sitting in our nice warm houses, with all of our luxuries, these kids are wasting away in places where they are unwanted.
Where they are shown no loves, no affection. They get no attention. But instead become bedridden, they stop growing because they are malnourished. All because they are "different" their lives are deemed as unworthy of life. A question I have always asked my self is "Who is the person that gets to decide who is different & unworthy of life?" Because whoever it is need to be put in the situation of the poor kids that are suffering. All because we never think of other anymore. It's all about me. Never about the children that are suffering & will die if they aren't rescued.
These children are special they are HUGE blessings. They deserve a family, a house, a warm bed, more then we do. They deserve so much more but yet are given so little. If only people would take the time to see what they CAN do. & stop putting everything they wish to do in life down. They CAN & WILL fulfill their dreams. They will get jobs. They will fall in love. They will make a difference. It will happen & nothing will stop them. They are blessings....not...burdens.
